-- Just did a search for the term "pedestrian gods" and was surprised that I didn't find anything. To me that's the very nature of the deity/ies that human beings have worshiped since the beginning. We've always shaped and reshaped our gods to fit our own needs (and greeds) and especially our fears and insecurities for thousands of years. The deities have been replaced by supposedly "new and improved" versions and people have said "pay no attention to the old (false) ones." While we all are justified in speculating upon the nature of "our Creator/of Ultimate Reality," just seems to me that if our God(s), like our religions, are truly "human constructs," and if humanity itself is inherently imperfect, flawed and fallible, then the entire notion of "orthodoxy"--upon which wars are waged and walls erected -- appears to be thoroughly, rationally and factually unsupportable. What do you think?
